Can guests request songs from the violinist?

Yes, if you'd like that. You're in charge of the music, so guest requests happen only when you say so.

Short answer

Yes, if you want. Jared takes guest requests from his library of hundreds of songs, which covers most of what people ask for, though not every song on the planet. Songs that need to be learned have to be requested ahead of time in your BookLive client portal.

You decide first

Jared lets couples be in charge of what he plays. When one couple asked whether guests could make requests, his answer started with “If you want me to, yes.” So the first step is simply telling him on your planning call:

  • Open requests. Guests can walk up and ask for a song during cocktail hour or the reception.
  • Your list only. Jared sticks to the songs you picked.
  • Somewhere in between. Requests are welcome during cocktail hour, while the ceremony stays exactly as you planned it.

What guests can ask for

Requests on the day come from the songs Jared already plays. That's hundreds of songs, from Pachelbel and Bach to Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Journey and Chappell Roan, so most requests are covered. As he puts it, “it's not going to be every song on the planet.”

The violin is wireless, so during cocktail hour Jared can walk among your guests, which makes it easy for them to ask. At cocktail hour he plays whole songs, about three minutes each, or roughly 20 songs an hour, so there's room for a few requests alongside your own picks.

Getting a guest's favorite on the list

If you know your dad's favorite song or your best friend's anthem ahead of time, add it to your picks in your BookLive client portal. 3 custom songs are included, then $25 each, and picks are due about two weeks before the wedding.
