How booking a wedding violinist works

From the first email to the day itself, every step happens online in your BookLive client portal, plus one Zoom call to plan the details.

Short answer

You get a proposal, accept it, sign a simple one-page contract and pay a 50% deposit online in your BookLive client portal, by card or ACH. The balance is due about a week before the wedding, with reminders. Song picks are due about two weeks before, and a Zoom call sets your timeline.

Step by step

  1. Send your date and venue. Those two details come first. Tell us which parts of the day you want music for, and we confirm availability.
  2. Get your proposal. Your quote arrives as a proposal. To book, click the button in the proposal to accept it.
  3. Sign and pay the deposit. You sign a simple one-page digital contract, then pay a 50% deposit in your BookLive client portal. That holds your date.
  4. Pick your songs. In the same BookLive portal, choose songs for every moment and request any that aren't on the song list. Picks are due about two weeks before the wedding.
  5. Plan on Zoom. Once your timeline is set, you and Jared meet over Zoom to walk through cues. After the contract is signed, he also coordinates with your planner, venue and DJ.
  6. Pay the balance. The other half is due about a week before the wedding. BookLive sends reminders, so you won't have to track it.

Paying

  • Card or ACH. Pay by card, or by ACH bank transfer if you'd rather skip the credit card fee.
  • Early is fine. You can pay the balance before it's due if you want.
  • Custom songs. 3 custom songs are included, then $25 each.
  • Travel. A travel fee may apply outside metro Denver. It's in your proposal, not added later.

If your plans change

If you need to reschedule and Jared is free on the new date, he switches it with no change fee. If he isn't available, he'll propose one of his trusted substitute violinists.

You don't need to schedule Jared for the rehearsal. He gives himself enough time on the day and arrives about an hour before music starts.

Couples on the planning process

★★★★★

“We had several Zoom meetings before the wedding to go over the playlist and details, which made everything feel very organized and stress-free. He knows an incredible amount of songs, and the ones he didn't know, he practiced especially for our wedding!”

Booking questions

How much is the deposit?

50% of the total, paid online in your BookLive client portal when you sign the contract.

When is the rest due?

About a week before the wedding. You'll get reminders, and you can pay early if you like.

Can we hold a date while we decide?

Dates are first come, first served. If another couple asks about your date while you're deciding, we'll check with you first.

Do you need to come to our rehearsal?

No. Jared arrives about an hour early on the day, which is plenty of time to set up and check the space.

Can we reschedule?

Yes. If Jared is free on your new date, there's no change fee. If not, he'll propose a trusted substitute.
