How long can a violinist play at an event?
Booking the right number of hours means the music covers your event without paying for time you don't need.
Most corporate events book two to three hours of music, and Jared can go up to four. For longer sets he takes one short break, about 10 minutes, and can play recorded music during it so the room never goes quiet.

Typical lengths by event
| Event | Music |
|---|---|
| Keynote walk-in | About 45 minutes at one large corporate event |
| Product launch | About an hour at the Creed launch at Neiman Marcus |
| Reception, party or gala | Usually two to three hours |
| Longest booking | Up to four hours |
Jared's own rule of thumb: “Can go up to four hours, but after that, it gets a little tiring.” A cocktail-style set runs about 20 songs an hour, since he plays whole songs that average about three minutes each.
Breaks during longer sets
Around two and a half hours is the point where Jared takes one break in the middle, about 10 minutes. During it he can play recorded music through his system, so your guests don't notice a gap.
Setup doesn't count against your hours
Jared arrives about an hour before his first set to unload, set up and sound-check. That time is built into the base price for the first hour, so the hours you book are hours of music. How pricing works.
Shorter bookings
Not every event needs a full evening. A keynote walk-in or a store launch can be an hour of music or less. The first hour's base price includes setup and all the logistics, so a short booking still gets the full sound system and sound-check.
How to choose your hours
- Cover the moments that matter most: arrival, cocktails and the stretch before or after your program.
- Leave the violin quiet during speeches. It's better to end a set early than to talk over it.
- Book through the end of your event if you want music as guests leave.
