Is it just you, or do you have multiple people?
It's one of the first things couples ask, and the answer surprises people: one violinist, and your guests still hear a whole band.
It's just one musician. Jared Judge plays live electric violin over professional backing tracks, so your guests hear a full band while the setup stays small. In his words: “It's just me. Keep it nice and compact.”

One violinist, a full-band sound
When a couple asked whether it was just him or a group, Jared put it simply: “It is just me. I perform solo. My act is technically electric violin with backing tracks.”
The violin is played live and carries the melody. The backing tracks fill in the band behind it, so pop songs, rock songs and ceremony classics all sound full, even with one player.
- A small footprint. Jared needs a little less than a 10 by 10 foot space. How much space a violinist needs.
- Self-sufficient by design. He brings his own sound system and won't need help from you or your venue.
- Free to move. The violin is wireless, so Jared can walk among your guests during cocktail hour.
- Hundreds of songs. Pick from the song list, from Canon in D to Pink Pony Club; 3 custom songs are included, then $25 each.
- No lyrics to worry about. With no singer, songs with explicit lyrics work fine in front of grandparents.
- One person to plan with. Once your contract is signed in your BookLive client portal, Jared coordinates with your planner, venue and DJ.

What if Jared can't make it?
Jared plays most weddings himself. Extreme Strings also keeps a roster of violinists Jared has auditioned, including two substitutes he trusts to play at the same level he does. A substitute steps in only for something serious, like illness or a family emergency. Jared also keeps backup sound systems, and backup musicians are ready if something happens on the day, like a car accident. What happens if the violinist gets sick.
Want more sound at the reception?
A solo violinist pairs well with a DJ. At the reception, the violin can join your DJ's set for big moments on the dance floor, then step back out. How violin and DJ work together.
Guests on a one-person show
★★★★★“What I like most about Extreme Strings is that the performance is so engaging, but being instrumental, you just find yourself singing and dancing along...realizing you know all of the songs even though there isn't a vocalist on stage.”
★★★★★“Jared played all the songs we discussed, was on time, and extremely professional!”
★★★★★“This was without a doubt everyone's favorite part of our wedding!”

Questions about a solo violinist
Is the violin live or prerecorded?
The violin is played live. The backing tracks supply the band behind it, which is how one player sounds like a full group.
Do you need help setting up?
No. Extreme Strings is self-sufficient by design. Jared brings his own sound system and sets it up himself.
Do you sit or stand?
Jared typically plays standing up the whole time.
Who do we talk to while planning?
Jared. You'll meet over Zoom once your timeline is set, and he coordinates with your other vendors after the contract is signed.
