Does the violinist need a power outlet?
Colorado ceremony spots are often a lawn, a deck or a trail with nothing to plug into. That's fine.
No outlet is required. Jared has a battery pack that can power his setup outdoors for about a day, so he can play where there's nothing to plug into. If you want the violin to run through your DJ's system, he needs a power outlet and an XLR input on the DJ's board.

Battery power for spots without outlets
In Jared's words: “I also can deal with uncertain power situations. I have, like, a nice battery pack that will power me outdoors for, like, a day if I need to.”
That covers a ceremony and cocktail hour with room to spare. At Sunrise Amphitheater in Boulder, where Extreme Strings has played several weddings, Jared takes care of all his own power. For a ceremony on a trail with no outlets at all, he quotes a setup that runs entirely on batteries.

When you reach out, it helps to tell us:
- Where on the property the ceremony and cocktail hour will be.
- Whether there's an outlet within reach of each spot.
- Whether the spot has shade. Jared needs some kind of shade outdoors.
- Whether your DJ is providing microphones for the ceremony.
Power is only part of an outdoor setup
Outdoors, Jared also brings his own professional speakers so the violin carries in open air, and a lapel mic for the officiant if your DJ isn't providing one. He needs shade, and he has a clear line for weather: a very fine mist is fine, falling rain is not. What happens if the weather turns. For mountain venues, a travel fee may apply outside metro Denver.
When there is power
Indoors, or anywhere with an outlet, Jared sets up his own speakers as usual. He brings his own equipment and doesn't rely on what the DJ brings. If you'd rather run the violin through your DJ's system at the reception, he needs a power outlet and an XLR input into the DJ's board.
Ceremony and cocktail hour in two spots at the same venue? Jared sets up both locations before the ceremony. Afterward, he unplugs at the ceremony spot, moves his violin to the cocktail hour and plugs back in. Playing two spots.
What couples say
★★★★★“He made the drive from Denver to Boulder and made sure his set up worked with our video set up.”
★★★★★“He was responsive, timely, and really brought our ceremony and first dance to the next level. The first thing our guests noticed was the nice touch the violin brought.”
Bringing his own power means the music can go wherever your view is best, from the Front Range to the mountains.
