Weddings at Sunrise Amphitheater
Sunrise Amphitheater, up on Flagstaff Mountain, is the Boulder venue we play most. A few things we've learned there:
- Power. Jared handles it himself. In his words: “I take care of all my own power up at Sunrise Amphitheater.”
- The amplified-music rule. Sunrise has a rule about amplified music, so couples have had Jared bring an acoustic option too, just in case. It has never been needed.
- An indoor backup. Some couples plan on Halfway House as their weather backup. Jared has made that move once, and as he puts it, “It is doable.”
- Two locations. When the ceremony is at Sunrise and cocktail hour is somewhere else, Jared sets up and sound-checks the cocktail-hour space first, then heads up for the ceremony. How two locations work.
- Shade. Outdoors anywhere, Jared needs shade to play, and he works with your weather plan.
Getting there and what we play
Boulder is about 30 to 45 minutes northwest of Denver on US 36, and Lafayette and Lyons are close by. Jared arrives about an hour before the music starts to set up and sound-check. A travel fee may apply outside metro Denver, and it's in your quote, so there are no surprises.
Most couples book the ceremony and cocktail hour, and some add the reception, where the violin plays along with your DJ. Pick your songs from the song list in your BookLive client portal; John Denver's Rocky Mountain High is there for a Colorado touch, next to Pachelbel, Coldplay and Taylor Swift.
