Can we have a violinist at our rehearsal dinner or welcome party?

Yes. Extreme Strings plays rehearsal dinners and wedding welcome parties, where the mood is looser and the song list can be too.

Short answer

Yes. Extreme Strings has played a wedding welcome dinner at The Parker Hotel and a rehearsal dinner at Nest Above in Estes Park. Jared brings his own sound system, needs a little less than a 10 by 10 foot space, and can provide a microphone for toasts. Songs are picked in your BookLive client portal.

Why live violin works the night before

  • Room to be playful. The night before is looser than the ceremony. At one rehearsal dinner, Jared played Ozzy Osbourne's Crazy Train. Classic rock, pop and dance songs sit on the song list right next to the romantic ones.
  • Toasts are easy. Jared can provide a microphone during his booked hours, so whoever is speaking gets heard. He plays the music and leaves the speeches to you; he doesn't MC.
  • Fits a restaurant or private room. The setup needs a little less than a 10 by 10 foot space, about the size of a tailgating tent, and Jared can make less work. He plays standing up and needs no help from your hosts or staff.
  • Guests can ask for songs. If you'd like, Jared takes requests from your guests, drawn from the hundreds of songs he knows. How guest requests work.
  • Quiet or front and center. Music can stay softly under dinner, then come up when the plates are cleared.

Where we've played the night before

Recent wedding-weekend events include a welcome dinner at The Parker Hotel in Parker and a rehearsal dinner at Nest Above in Estes Park, both in 2026. Rehearsal and welcome dinners are part of the wedding work Extreme Strings does across Colorado, from Denver to Estes Park, Boulder and Breckenridge. A travel fee may apply outside metro Denver.

How booking works

  1. Send the details. Your date, the restaurant or venue, and how long you want music.
  2. Hold the date. Sign the one-page contract and pay the deposit online in your BookLive client portal.
  3. Pick the songs. Choose in the same portal, about two weeks before. Leave room for requests if you want them.
  4. Enjoy the evening. Jared arrives about an hour early to set up and sound-check, so music is on when your first guests walk in.

Rehearsal dinner questions

Can you play our rehearsal dinner and our wedding?

Yes, if both dates are open. Send both dates and venues and we'll check availability.

Do you bring a microphone for toasts?

Yes. Jared can provide a microphone during his booked hours. He doesn't MC, so pick someone to introduce the speakers.

How much space do you need in a restaurant?

A little less than a 10 by 10 foot space, about the size of a tailgating tent. Jared can make a smaller spot work.

Can our guests request songs?

If you'd like, yes. Jared plays requests from his library of hundreds of songs, though not every song ever written.

Do you need an outlet?

An outlet is easiest. Where there isn't one, Jared's setup can run on battery power.
